Parent to Parent: Sharing Your Wisdom

Location: Tundra CD

Description: Parenting gifted children can be delightful, challenging, and sometimes lonely. Parents and caregivers of gifted children often long for a community where they can share the joys and challenges of successfully parenting these children – a community that is safe, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Join facilitators Dal and Jackie Drummer, SENG (Supporting the Emotional Needs of Gifted) national trainers and facilitators to explore topics of interest –characteristics of gifted, stress and perfectionism, peers and friendships, values, beliefs and traditions, twice and thrice exceptional, advocacy, and other topics dictated by the group.

Participant Outcomes:

  1. Participants will, in a safe community with others, explore the strengths and challenges of raising gifted children and adolescents, and will share their experiences and wisdom in a gently facilitated discussion.
  2. Participants will be able to parent more effectively using the tools and resources shared during the session.
  3. Participants will gain a further understanding of their own unique needs as gifted individuals and parents/caregivers of gifted children and adolescents.
