Description: In this workshop, Dr. Dante D. Dixson is going to teach you how to cultivate hope to develop academic potential. First, he will discuss typical issues with intervention implementation and how they can be avoided. Second, he will discuss the key components of a hope intervention, including various broad hope-based interventions that can be implemented by various school personnel as well as how one can develop their own. Finally, via a hands-on demonstration, Dr. Dixson will discuss the main research-based hope intervention that his lab is currently refining that is aimed at changing the academic trajectory of minoritized and disadvantaged youth.
