Jennifer Owen

Jennifer Owen is a proud graduate of Montana State University, where she earned a Masters of Science in Science Education. She has been a teacher for seventeen years, and the Program Leader for the Kiel Virtual Schools since 2022. Jennifer is a Kohl Fellowship winner, two time finalist for Wisconsin Digital Learning Collaborative’s Teacher of the Year, and recipient of the Kiel Area School District Above and Beyond award in 2025. She has presented at state and national conferences, including WATG in 2024. Jennifer believes in the power of a solutions-based approach to education, creatively leading initiatives in expanding special education services, alternative paths to high school diplomas in an online GEDO #2 program, and embodies the WATG theme for this year’s conference as the Kiel Virtual programs find new and innovative ways to meet students where they are, and help them exceed their goals. Jennifer is a master quilter, loves a good metal band or a trip to an aquarium, and ends a great day on the back of a motorcycle.
