Gifted and Talented 201, Upping the Ante

Location: Sandstone 9

Description: Participants know the WI state statute and the five areas of giftedness. In this session, we’ll explore how to leverage Talent Development models, menus of advanced options, and “See a need, serve a need.” We will also touch on the complexities of the identities of our advanced learners.


Participant Outcomes: 

  1. Participants will understand how to explain the diamond model includes students who need advanced programming.
  2. Participants will identify how Equitable Multi-Level Systems of Support, Response to Instruction, and Universal Design for Learning include Advanced Learners.
  3. Participants will explore the complexities of identification using local assessment data and the targeted screeners for gifted education (from DPI).
  4. Participants will bookmark resources that they can return to for continue reference as they grow their program.
