Description: Many students have untapped talents that traditional identification methods may overlook especially in underrepresented populations. This session will highlight how taking a chance on emerging talent through STEAM programming can unlock students’ potential and expand gifted opportunities. Those attending the session will have the opportunity to explore how culturally responsive STEAM experiences can serve as a tool for talent development, while sharing practical strategies and real-world examples from initiatives like STEAM en Español. Participants will leave inspired to rethink how they design, implement, and expand STEAM opportunities to nurture potential in students who may not yet be formally identified as gifted.
