News From the Board – Calls to Action

How many times have I said to myself “I wish I could do something to help…” or “I wish I could do more…” I can’t be the only one. Maybe you have been there too?

I have a couple of calls to action for you. These are a few easy things you could do to help WATG. I know you are passionate about gifted and talented education just as we are. If you are struggling with what to do to help, I have a couple of ideas for you.

  1. Share our social media posts. In just a few clicks you can help us spread the word. We are on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.  Oh, and be sure to like and follow us if you haven’t already!
  2. Register for our conference, Launching Gifted Learners: All Systems Go, and bring your friends and colleagues.
  3. Register the teens in your life for the Teen Conference.
  4. Tell others about our Parent Conference, held during the fall conference in October.
  5. Bring your expertise to our Board or one of our Committees. Contact me at rhagedorn@watg.org for more information.
  6. Make our website more user-friendly. We are looking for a one-time donation to get a new website up and running. Your name or business would be prominently featured on the new site. Contact me for more details on what’s involved.
  7. Become a member of WATG. Parents can still join for free. (Parent Spanish Version)
  8. Sign your business up to be an exhibitor/sponsor for the #WATG22 Fall Conference Launching Gifted Learners: All Systems Go. (Sign up details on Page 6.)
  9. Share your story.  We are always looking for stories to share about challenges and successes. Email to discuss sharing your story and making a difference to others.
Thank you for being a part of our mission and thank you for always looking to do more to help.
Roxane Hagedorn, Executive Director
Wisconsin Association for Talented and Gifted
WATG extends a huge thank you to Dr. German Diaz of Milwaukee Public Schools for translating this article into Spanish for our families and educators who speak Spanish. The translation can be found on our website.
